Reconstruction of community hall in the Philippines destroyed by Typhoon Haiyan in 2013

2015.1.20

In November 2013, the Leyte Island Tanauan plant of Fuji Oil Group’s New Leyte Edible Oils Manufacturing Corporation suffered great damage as a result of Typhoon Haiyan, and we would hereby like to express our gratitude to everyone who has offered us their kind encouragement and support.

In the hope of contributing to the recovery of the Tanauan region in which we have carried out operations for many years, work was commenced in April 2014 on the reconstruction of the area’s community hall which was completely destroyed using donations from our business partners and from the Fuji Oil Group. In December 2014, construction of the San Roque Community Hall finished and it was handed over to the regional authorities.
Just after construction was completed, the area was hit by a typhoon of a similar magnitude to Typhoon Haiyan, but the community hall was undamaged and served as an evacuation center for the local residents.
