Fuji Oil Europe Wins Confectionery Innovation of the Year in Fi Europe 2009


Fuji Oil Europe of the Fuji Oil Group was awarded the Confectionery Innovation of the Year Award in the 2009 Food Ingredients Excellence Awards with REDUSAT, a fat for fillings and creams.
Conventional products needed certain levels of saturated fatty acids to give structure to food products.
Overconsumption of saturated fatty acids within oils and fats are generally said to increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
REDUSAT contains 60% less saturates compared to existing fats. Amid the increased health concerns in reducing saturated fats from diets in Europe, the functional product is expected to achieve increase in sales following its triumph over several other companies in winning the award.
