Healthy oils and fats that include stabilized DHA/EPA are an example.
DHA and EPA are unsaturated fatty acids found in large volumes in fish and seafood that have potential health benefits, such as a reduced risk of dementia onset.
However, these fish oils are easily oxidized, resulting in a negative impact on a product’s flavor and on the production line where it is produced. Thus, it has been difficult to include DHA and EPA in food products and their consumption has been limited to intake from eating fish or taking supplements.
Our new technology enables us to dissolve antioxidants with low solubility in oil, and we have succeeded in the development of a stabilized DHA/EPA, which massively reduces oxidation.
We are currently working with customers to include it in a range of products.
