2022 New Year's Address by the President & CEO of Fuji Oil Holdings Inc.

Now that 2022 is here, I’d like to offer my greetings.

First, my deepest condolences go out to those who have lost their lives due to COVID-19, and to all of those who have lost loved ones. My heartfelt sympathies go out to all of those who have fallen ill.I would also like to express my gratitude to the essential workers all over the world, like the medical professionals who are working tirelessly against this difficult disease.

This difficult period shows no sign of ending. Amid this, however, knowing that all of the employees in the Fuji Oil Group have come together as a cohesive unit, taking responsibility to keep the plants of each company running and accomplishing the task of keeping food supplied gives me an enormous sense of pride.I’d also like to express my gratitude to all of those in our group’s supply chain who have offered so much support and cooperation in the supply of products, from the initial procurement of raw materials to the final distribution of products.

While it’s being said that we still can’t see signs of substantive economic recovery, the COVID-19 pandemic is bringing great change to consumption behavior. In particular, digitalization has made great leaps, and will continue expanding moving forward. Additionally, it’s forecast that ethical consumption, which gives consideration to the environment, is going to continue picking up pace in the West in particular, but also in other places. I want us to be able to quickly respond to the rapidly changing requests of our customers.

Since the foundation of the Fuji Oil Group, we’ve grown our business with plant-based oils and fats and protein as our primary raw materials. As a food ingredient company, we’re going to continue to build a sustainable future for food with oils and fats and protein as our primary raw materials.

We intend to continue growing by listening to consumers and contributing to the solving issues of our customers and concretely recognizing what Fuji Oil Group can contribute to the problems facing society.

The source of the Fuji Oil Group’s growth is in our employees. Through sharing a wide variety of values and business models unique to each region throughout the group as a whole and giving employees the opportunity to take on sound and fair challenges, we’re going to create even further value, which will tie in to the future of the group.
